Restaurationsprojekt in Marbach 2005
Marbach
The former Voit organ from 1868 was radically rebuilt in 1927.
Among other things, the upper part of the case was removed and this
has now been recreated in simplified form from a contemporary photograph.
Other historically-informed solutions were rejected, but the original action
was to be reinstated. The work was carried out in our restoration workshop,
separate from the workshop where new organs are built. Our voicer,
Reiner Janke, has successfully rediscovered Voit's voicing 'handwriting'
and matched the new stops accordingly to it.
