Organ Works
Lenzkirch, St. Nikolaus
Renovation of the Späth organ from 1985 | III/33 | 2024 | op. 911
In 1985, our workshop built a two-manual slider chest organ for St. Nicholas Church in Lenzkirch. The Hauptwerk and Schwellwerk are placed one above the other in a central case flanked by two separate pedal towers. The bass octave of the wooden Prinzipalbass 16' is located behind the main case. The mechanical key and stop actions are supplemented by an electric stop control for operation via a setter system.
After around 40 years of reliable service, the instrument now requires cleaning and overhaul, which we will carry out in 2024. During the work, the ease of maintenance will be improved through optimized accessibility and safety. The detached console and the organ's electrics will also be overhauled. All slider magnets will be replaced. The labial pipework will be overhauled to balance the intonation. A particular tonal gain is achieved through the re-voicing of the reed stops.
