The South Korean city of Cheonan lies 85 kilometres from the outskirts of the capital Seoul. A new community centre and church had become necessary to meet the demands of a growing Catholic congregation. The simple church building is rectangular on plan with an extended apse and has a gently sloping saddle roof and rounded arch windows.

Instead of a gallery at the west end there is a broad chamber completely filled by the organ.  The opening into the main space is occupied by the case façade comprised of 8ft pipes from both Hauptwerk and Pedal, arranged in irregular sequence. Long, vertical strips of equal length between the pipes add plasticity to the structure and create a horizontal silhouette at the top. The unified vertical hatching is enlivened through curved lines, derived from the tops and feet of the pipes.

The mobile console is at ground level at the front of the space, close to the choir stalls. Electric transmission gives the organist ideal aural control over the instrument.

The specification is essentially universal in concept, with an emphasis on the French Romantic, as embodied in the warm and full voicing style. There is also a rich and varied palette of characterful sounds for congregational accompaniment and for concert use. Three octave extensions on the Pedal and several octave couplers serve to widen the tonal possibilities.
